Children may come across these difficulties during school or other circumstances . There are so many lessons here, the love from a family , rexognition if a problem, a solution, a compromise , and acceptance . The illustrations were very well done . Lepore is a heartwarming story with wonderful messages for both children and parents. Peanut, with his parents’ encouragement, finds a way to stay true to himself while being kind and considerate of others. The penguin parents model a parenting style that builds attachment, trust, and confidence. The story conveys the importance of being in tune with a child’s feelings, and listening to their concerns, helping them to find solutions that are win-win for all involved. Peanut finds a way to continue his singing passion while respecting the wishes of his penguin neighbors. I know it will be a favorite bedtime story and that everyone will love Ms. Lepore’s beautiful illustrations. I can't wait to share it with the children and parents with whom I work. The colors and scenes in this book are so vivid and happy, not surprising since the author is also the illustrator. Layer -- Wonderful story : Great to read as if telling the story, there are spaces when one could just look at the ilustrations, or try to predict what might happen next or one would feel with any of the characters, most likely Peanut, but maybe his family or his neighbors. It offers a resolution that turns the problem in one context into a gift in the next context. It was easy to empathasize with all the characters.
